O mnie

The man is Great not thanks to what they possess but thanks to who they are;
not thanks to what they’ve got but thanks to the things they’re sharing with others.
John Paul II

My name's Wiktoria Hantz and I'm ten years old. For some people it's not much, for others it is. For me it's been all my life through which I've been learning to speak, to laugh, to talk using full sentences, and to walk… And walking is the thing which I have a problem with.

I was born with children's cerebral palsy. Luckily for me and my parents I'm only physically handicapped, not mentally. I'm still being rehabilitated; I need to do exercises and to undergo rehabilitation all the time, but it costs a lot. Soon my parents will run out of money. Together with my Mom and Dad we travel 300 kilometers from Zamosc to Warsaw each month to monitor my condition. There they are trained how to do certain exercises with me at home. I'm getting better all the time.

Please, help me and my parents gather the money because thanks to such an intensive therapy I'll have the chance to walk on my own, without any help. Someday, I'd like to climb stairs, kneel to pick something up, and crouch down like other children in the sandpit. Now I'm unable to do all those things, though, I really want to.

I dream of going for a walk on my own foot and not my Dad's.
